Dystopian Ficiton Blog #1: Due Wednesday 12/5
In the book, Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, there are many powerful lines that really inspire me. The book is about a girl named Katniss who has to take many dangerous risks to survive the hunger games.
"I want to die as myself"
I really like this statement made by Peeta because it really shows the type of person he is. When he says this quote he is saying that he wants to die being him, not what the captial turns him into. The hunger games, palying in the games, can really change you. That meaning that during the hunger games, you might kill someone or something for the first time and not give one thought about it or have a total breakdown. During the hunger games, you might have to work twice or three times as hard as you usually do. The government pushes you to become a different person, more violent, aggressive, and deadly.
Peeta's statement is very powerful because he is trying to prevent himself from chamging in any way. He doesnt want to be the capital's puppet. He wants to stay as peeta. As the bakers boy from the seam. As the admirer and "lover" of katniss.

I agree with your assessment of Peeta's personality. He is a very well rounded person despite his unpleasant upbringing, and it shows. He fed Katniss when she was starving, and he said that he wants to remain himself in the Hunger Games. I think Peeta is smarter than people give him credit for.
ReplyDeletei agree that the quote show the type of person Peeta is. i also thought the same thing about him not wanting to change just because he was in the hunger games and changed to another person by the capital
