In Divergent the character Tris changes throughout the story just like Katniss in The Hunger Games. They both are uncomfortable in the beginning but then slowly find their places. Katniss seemed to be the more stronger character but Tris has definitely showed some personality traits that are very Dauntless like the name of her faction. Both books are very similar and so are the characters but their lifestyles are extremely different.

     Katniss has had more trouble being the main control of her family. Her mom turned depressed and Katniss was subbed on. She has had to take care of her sister Prim because her mom is not physically and emotionally ready to take control again. Every morning Katniss has to cross District boundaries and go hunting to get her family food and supplies to keep alive. Katniss and her family has to deal with being in District 12 the poorest district, but in the end all of Katniss's work pays off and she is crowned victor of the Hunger Games.

     On the other hand Tris has not had to face these casualties but now she has to face being Divergent. When a kid grows up they are forced to take a test to see what Faction you are placed into. If you do not get placed you are Faction listed which is basically a death list. Tris sneaks her way into Dauntless which consists of her most unlikely traits but she proves to be very brave. Tris seemed like the under dog to the people of Dauntless but she has proved them absolutely wrong.

     Overall I respect both Katniss and Tris equally and think they both have amazing skills and courage and I think that these to books are both similar and great. Divergent and Hunger Games are mainly about struggle and finding yourself, which people have to do in real life.
